Obama Insisted on Indefinite Detentions of Citizens
Of course he did. And Congress is going to let him get it.
So yeah.
I think it might be time to stop pointing fingers. Stop saying libtards or repukelicans (or whatever insults you fling around to insult the “opposing” party). I don’t think it’s a matter of Republicans or Democrats at this point.
These things (NDAA, SOPA, etc) are going to affect you, regardless of what side of the party line you’re on. Maybe the first step is to stop bickering about that bullshit, and maybe just start pushing - Not necessarily for what’s best for the American people (because we obviously all have differing opinions on that point) - But rather for what isn’t going to screw us all over and destroy everything we’ve loved about this country.Get off your high horses. Stop with the “I told you so”s or the blind apologies for people in power and/or their policies that are obviously NOT in your best interests.
Stop blaming everyone else and start paying attention.tl;dr: Quit it. Wake up.
i’m not sure if that’s a rant at me specifically or just a general blast of anger that sounds like it’s been building for a while now. anyway.
“I think it might be time to stop pointing fingers.”
you’ll note that my comment referenced both Congress (both sides, each led by a different party and each bill passed with bipartisan support) and the President himself. i will call both parties out with nothing less than enthusiasm.
and since you’ve been paying attention, you would know that President Obama was holding threat of veto over both bills unless he retained his indefinite retention powers for american citizens on american soil. i’m not pointing fingers, i’m stating a fact. when you say, “stop blaming everyone else” i’m not sure what you mean; it is very, very clear who is responsible for this bill being signed into law.
yes, i absolutely agree with you that we all have our responsibilities to call our congresspeople and whatnot, and i’ve done this. i’ve encouraged others to do this. but there is only one person who has the power to actually make this a law. do i blame those who elected him? no, of course not. they could have had no idea he would do this; he campaigned on just the opposite. bu apparently, that’s what he meant by “change.”
