Best. Graph. Ever.

Let’s make one thing clear:  If the Bush cuts had been passed with vague, insincere pledges by Congressmen that they would cut spending to more than make up for the tax cuts, the CBO scores for the Bush tax cuts would have been blue as well. Democrats got a good report from the CBO because they gamed the system, and nobody seriously believes the CBO projection as a result.  So this graph isn’t the Best. Graph. Ever.  It’s a chart of nonsense.
All of you on the left side of the aisle who decried the Bush manipulations need to stop cheering on Obama’s.  It’s not enough to take the high road when you’re out of power; it only means something if you take when you’re in.  If people want to push for government health care, they should argue it on the merits.

Furthermore, the CBO employs constraints that almost everyone agrees aren’t realistic. It’s like me applying for an option ARM and devising an underestimated budget to prove i can make the initial payments.
[apologies to crazynutjob & others for possibly butchering that analogy.]
one more thing: the graph compares the real balances in the first two but the optimistic hypothetical balance for the latter? seriously?
yet another thing: obama himself is contributing the the EGTRRA & JGTRRA deficits.
